I Ching Meanings

The following pages will tell you mainly how I do divination or fortune telling - usually with tarot, I Ching, and numerology - but I can lend my hand to astrology, palmistry, tea leaves, auras, scrying, and dousing.  I'll be telling you how I feel that I do divination ethically and honestly {mind you, not perfectly - because I don't know of any reader who is perfect or right 100% of the time.  In the words of one of my favourite people, Dorothy, the Angel Lady, "Oh, that's happened to me before - reading the person ahead."}

What's the difference between Fortune Telling & Divination?
None except maybe - and it's a small maybe, at that - what I've written below …

I've been told that fortune telling is evil and satanic.
Divination is neither evil nor satanic.  Divination is just like witchcrafting and spellcrafting.  It is empowerment and enhancement.  Divination is a tool that a witch uses as a healing art - physical healing, mental healing, and spiritual healing.

Yes, it's true there's lots of religions - particularly Christian religions - that say fortune telling is evil and satanic.  Divination is none of those things.  I've already had my say about the reputation that Wicca and witches have - just page down to the bottom of page 3 of Wicca & Spirituality for the details.

I'd like to give you a good one-line-zinger for those people who say you're evil and satanic {or what you're doing}, but I can't.  What I can tell you, though, is that witchcraft and Wicca is a religion.  When someone denigrates you for your religious choice - then those insults and put-downs are religious perse

cution.  {And, I'm not kidding, here.  There are a goodly number of countries, nowadays, that consider witchcraft and Wicca a religion and these same countries also make religious persecution illegal.}

Also, sadly, just like in the psychic field, there have been some unbelievable con artists in the fortune telling business.  And worse, these low-down, sneaky, users/losers charge people small fortunes - like all of a person's life savings - aaargh!!!!  Just like the foolish, misinformed medieval reputation, I wish these con-artists would disappear.

Also, sadly, fortune telling is associated with the Gypsy people - dumb prejudiced/racist stuff.  Plus Hollywood films haven't helped either.  Fortune tellers in many Hollywood films dress weird, behave mysteriously and secretively, and speak with some kind of weird and wonderful accent.  Let's face it.  Hollywood films are pure fantasy and hype just as the reasons for bigotry are.

Elvis, as the Emperor, from the Rock and Roll Tarot.  Regardless of the whimsy,  Elvis can easily be perceived as traditional male and business success, wealth, and confidence.  Both ironically and sadly, Elvis can also be seen as lack of control - a state that haunted him at the end of his life.
