Psychic Abilities page 2

"Mental" psychic abilities seem to be more common in people {as well as commonly experienced by people} than the "physical" psychic abilities.

How do I develop my psychic abilities?
Just like learning to become a witch, you need to study, read, research, and practice.  In the case of psychic abilities, this should be done mainly to determine the definition of what kind of abilities you may have manifested or what abilities you'd like to develop - in other words, you need to come up with a practical plan.

The next step is to MEDITATE.  In most books {or websites} that talk about developing psychic abilities, meditation as a first step is what's almost universally recommended.  Additionally, meditation is an excellent tool to help you focus in on and concentrate - a perfect state of mind to help you develop your psychic abilities.  {An added bonus to meditation is that it creates a stress-free or stress-reduced situation.}

{Self hypnosis is probably an excellent tool as well.  Though most hypnotists probably don't agree, certainly what I've read about it, is that it is very similar to meditation.  Both disciplines require that you clear your mind and get yourself into a relaxed state.}

Fortunately, there also seems to be a number of "organized" and "formal" courses available.   So, please consider taking courses.  In addition to medium training by the Spiritualist Church {and you don't have to join the Church to get training}, there are a number of universities and institutes that have parapsychology departments.  Of course, not all parapsychology departments offer courses to the general public BUT they may, at least, offer chances to be involved in studies, testing, and experiments.

Also on the internet, you can find both courses and testing sites.  The testing sites all seem pretty cool BUT please beware that some of the internet courses are "too good to be true".  So, please exercise good judgement on your part.

The "too good to be true" part?  If a website, book, or course tells you that you can FULLY develop your psychic abilities overnight, then it is too good to be true.  Other than abilities that have already manifested themselves - and you already know that that didn't happen immediately - developing psychic abilities is just like learning to read, learning to ride a bicycle, etc, etc, etc.  There is no instant fix or solution here, so please be patient.

And, of course, go to the library.  Get some general books about psychic abilities, particularly encyclopaedia/descriptive and history-type books.  Some other good general books are biographies of various genuine psychics, ie Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus, Uri Geller, etc.  {And, yeah, I know, some of the books will be a real slog, even some of them will be very "poo poo" types, and some of them will be real "flaky".  But, stick at it, you will be able to learn some things.  And, the good books!!!! - you'll learn lots from.}

After you've looked at the general books, start looking at books that address any specific abilities that you're trying to develop.  Unfortunately, good books about specific psychic abilities are hard to find.  But keep looking, you will find something sooner or later.
