August 7th 2009 11pm Laurentians PQ UFO details report: I was looking up at the stars on a beach at my cottage in the Laurentians, Quebec.I noticed the object in my peripherals at first because it was much brighter than many of the stars in the sky, and seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. I thought the object was a satellite, because I notice a few passing across the sky when I go star gazing, although it was much brighter which caught my attention. It basically assumed the form of a very bright star, and was moving quickly across the sky.The object then took two very sharp and very speedy changes in direction. One second it had sped downward in the sky, and then shot upward at an alarming speed. A split second later it was gone.I had been with a friend and we were both shocked. We're still trying to find a logical explanation for the sighting, being cold hard skeptics, but we just can't seem to find anything that fits the description. Our thanks goes out to the witness for sharing this report with us.

Paranormal research "...is beset by True Believers ('They must be, therefore they are!') and True Unbelievers ('They can't be, therefore they aren't!') Rare are those who pursue evidence wherever it may lead, no matter how the results may square with their cherished hopes and dreams. Ironically, both the TBists and the TUists see themselves as champions of objective analysis and critical thinking, when in fact they are defenders of their respective faiths and, not incidentally, their egos."
