![]() PSICAN CONSTITUTIONFull Membership GroupsThe company, Paranormal Studies and Investigations of Canada (henceforth known as PSICAN) will be groups and organisations abiding by and working with the following amendments…#1: Selected data and findings will be displayed via the Internet and other mediums of public display for free for all to view at the discretion of the individual regional directors of the groups with the following conditions: Section I: If a "price" is asked for the display of these findings or data, it is only to recover the costs of the display and no "profit" is to be made from these ventures.#2: The needs and concerns of witnesses and "experiencers" (those who come to us as people who have experienced something) as well as those who are assisting our group(s) with their data collection or activities must come before all. PSICAN volunteers (investigators, researchers, volunteers, etc.) must abide by any or all rules and regulations of a site, property or laws governing a place or even the constitution of an individual involved with the case or study ongoing. #3: No salaries or other payments will be given out to members of any of our teams without authorization by a regional director (in terms a local situations) or through the sitting board for larger, national or international situations. #4: Privacy, if requested, must be maintained for any or all witnesses or "experiencers" if requested when giving details to PSICAN groups. #5: No PSICAN group will ever request payment for any work done for an "experiencer(s)" or witnesses. Section I: If the witness offers to look after travel expenses up to and including transportation costs, accommodation(s), food and minor equipment expenditures, this can only be accepted if first passed through the regional director in charge of the particular work#6: No one, except an appointed media liaison or regional director, may represent the group(s) without express authority from the applicable regional director. #7: Regional directors may recruit and staff with volunteers in any way they see fit. The directors will be responsible for the work, effort and other factors of these volunteers and staff. #8: Any or all costs that are to be 'written off' as expenses must pass before a regional director for authorization. #9: Terminations: Section I: Sexism and/or racism will not be tolerated by any member or director of PSICAN and can and will lead to immediate termination of responsibilities.#10: Use of material(s) collected by a PSICAN group by either another group, website, media company, author, reporter, etc. must be cleared and authorized by a regional director with full credit going to the originators of the material unless privacy has been requested by said original source. #11: Regional directors and the Chair and Co-Chair of the sitting board may take control of any investigation or experiment from an investigator or other volunteer that may assist the "greater good" of the overall group for purposes of funding or for data collection. #12: The public stance of a PSICAN group must be one of agnosticism. Although a hypothesis or theory may be entertained, without substantial and accepted evidence from the regional directors and possibly the board, a PSICAN group and its investigators and volunteers must be open to all interpretations of the phenomena being studied and must not "preach" a single belief or non-belief. Section I: If questions arise, any issues may be presented to a regional director or the board as is seen fit. All issues unresolved as to what constitutes accepted "evidence" or "fact" (when questioned) will be addressed by the sitting board at quarterly meetings and must meet a quorum.#13: There are two tiers of fund raising. Tier One: Funds may be raised by local regional directors for their individual groups for individual experiments, equipment and expenses. These funds are collected by and under the auspices of the regional director, but must meet the laws and regulations laid out in the constitution or the by-laws of PSICAN.#14: Fiscal Responsibility: Section I: Any regional director who allocates any of the standing funds of their individual group to any person, event or work, is directly responsible for these funds. Funds that cannot be traced or otherwise accounted for will be the individual regional director's responsibility which may include a request from the board for re-compensation of said funds.#15: Although board positions and officerships within the company may be moved, changed or altered with time or by vote, "founders" of certain groups (including founding regional directors) is a lifetime title and may come with whatever privileges the individual regional directors and founders decide to give these titles. Any issues, problems or concerns can be sent to the board to be decided in a quorum. |
