The Ambassador Hotel
Formerly known as the Senator Hotel (1212 Granville Street), this was home to many young, troubled people who came to Vancouver during the 1960s.
One such person, a young woman seeking shelter there temporarily, whilst making supper one night, felt a searing pain on her leg where she accidentally brushed up against the oven.
Upon closer examination of the stove, it was found to be only just warm, and the burn mark, which looked at first to be quite serious, was gone the next day.
The same woman claimed to see a cleaning woman across the courtyard in the rear of the building, which was supposed to be sealed off.
When the building was investigated, no one was found, and it was also noted to have been locked securely.
