Lac La Hache

Lac La Hache, British Columbia is a strange little town.  I lived there for 2 years as a teenager and experienced many strange things there. The one I'm about to share with you I have never been able to explain or find an answer for.

One night, I was in a car with a friend, my boyfriend, and his friend.  We were all completely sober and all four of us experienced the same thing.  We were driving down a stretch of highway between Lac La Hache and 108 Mile House late at night.  In that part of the province there are no street lights and very little traffic at all.  We were the only car on the road when this happened.  We were driving when all of a sudden the car was jolted.  It felt like we had hit something...perhaps an animal or a large rock on the road.  At the same time that we felt like we had hit something, I felt what felt like a whip on the backs of my thighs, near my knees, on the part of my leg that overhung the seat of the car.  It hurt, let me tell you.

Anyway, we pulled over and got out of the car.  We kept the headlights on and pulled a couple of flashlights out of the trunk.  We looked all around for signs of damage to the car and for that animal or rock we thought we had hit.  We backed up, looked in the ditch on both sides of the highway...nothing.  The car didn't have a single dent, no fur, no blood...nothing.  Also, there was no animal or rock, at least that we could find.

When we got back to my place, I was still feeling that burning pain on the backs of my thighs.

I took my pants off and stood in front of the mirror, looked behind me, and sure enough, there was a long raised red welt across the back of each of my thighs, each about a half inch wide and 4 or 5 inches long.

I wish I could explain what happened that night.  It really freaked us out and continues to haunt at least me until this day.  I was the only one with welts, maybe that's why I am looking for answers.

Report 2-

This is a recollection of what happened to me as a teenager living in my grandparent’s house in Lac La Hache, British Columbia.

In 1993 I moved up there to live with my mom, brother and grandparents in their home.  Only having three bedrooms, I was relegated to sleep on the hideaway bed in the den in the basement.

About three months after I moved in is when I started to experience the most terrifying episodes in my life.  I would be laying in bed trying to fall asleep when I would feel something either sit on the edge of my bed or actually feel the covers being lifted and something climb right into bed with me!

Never in my life, either before then or since then, have I actually been paralyzed with fear.  I couldn't move, or make the slightest sound.  I never actually saw anything as I sleep on my side, and it would always happen behind my back, but I could sure hear the creaking springs and feel the pressure and bouncing motion as that thing sat on or got into my bed.

After about a month of it, I convinced my brother to trade rooms with me.  He didn't actually feel anything get into his bed, but he, along with a few of our friends, heard strange whispers and experienced the room get freezing cold in just a second.

Even now, thinking about it scares me.  I hate that basement!
