The oracles in the I Ching are based upon both Taoist and Confucius philosophy - so keep "oriental inscrutability" and balanced or yin/yang thought in mind when doing I Ching. In Eastern philosophies, words such as "strong" and "weak" have much more subtle meanings as compared to what Western societies define those words. Whereas Western societies define many things as black and white, yes and no - Eastern societies tend to look at meanings in several shades of gray as much as for "every action, there is a reaction".
